Declan McKenna Music Catalog

This music catalog was part of a huge deep-dive into the history of graphic design and an homage to one of my favorite music artists of all time. The catalog is an emulation of a prominent graphic design style of the 20th century, paired with a music artist who complements the style. Declan McKenna is an alt/indie rock musician from England, and I have been an avid fan for almost seven years. As a teen, I deeply resonated with his music, during a time when I was just coming to terms with who I was in this exciting yet troubling world.

McKenna’s sound can best be described as experimental rock with an ‘80s synth wave edge. (You can listen to a sample of his music here.) Because of this, the catalog is styled after the postmodern graphic design movement of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, which emphasizes saturated colors, exaggerated movement, and collage-like elements.
